Indications

Nausea; motion-sickness, sea-sickness; nausea during pregnancy; secondary nausea, as a result of circulatory debility, gastric catarrh; nausea of children (caused by atrophy or dystrophy).  Vomiting of infants and children, possibly causing the development of ketonemia.  Vomiting on rising; cold perspiration and nausea associated with circulatory debility and prior to biliary colic. Complementary remedy for the accompanying nausea and vomiting in renal colic, ovarian cysts, intestinal spasms, and meteorism.

Mode of action

Aethusa: The main focus of this remedy is on the gastrointestinal tract; severe vomiting and diarrhea with dehydration and extreme prostration, especially in newborns; intolerance to milk, vomiting and diarrhea from milk.

Apomorphinum hydrochloricum: Specific remedy in vomiting of different kinds, symptomatic action in hyperemesis gravidarum.

Cocculus: Nausea, diarrhea caused by motion-sickness; sea-sickness; vertigo; headaches from riding in an automobile.

Colchicum: Extreme sensitivity to odours causing nausea, vomiting, faintness, etc.; violent retching and vomiting; nausea of pregnancy.

Ipecacuanha: Nausea and vomiting, which is incapacitating; nausea is unrelieved by vomiting; abdominal cramping.

Nux vomica: Nausea and vomiting, worse anger, alcohol, worse menstrual cramps or other abdominal pains, worse smoke.

Petroleum rectificatum: Motion sickness; sea-sickness, airplane sickness.

Veratrum album: Weakness and collapse states, especially if accompanied with vomiting; simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea, may occur during menses; projectile vomiting.

Clinical experience
  • Regarded as an acute formula, 5 drops may be administered on an as needed basis, or 20-30 drops in a bottle of water and sip as needed.
  • Treats nausea of any etiology.
  • Administer during chemotherapy on an as needed basis. Consider R7 in addition as a drainage remedy.
Ingredients

Aethusa D6 1 g, Apomorphinum hydrochloricum D12 1 g, Cocculus D12 1 g, Colchicum D12 1 g, Ipecacuanha D8 1 g, Nux vomica D30 1 g, Petroleum rectificatum D12 1 g, Veratrum album D30 1 g.

Non-medicinal ingredients: ethanol, purified water.

Dosage

Adults and children (ages 12 and up) 5-10 drops 1-3 times daily, acute cases 4-6 times in a little water or undiluted or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
