Native to Canada, this conifer grows on mountain slopes and peat bogs. It has a grey-brown bark that peels off, groups of red flowers and acicular leaves. The fruit is a 4-cm long red-brown hanging cone.

Its influence is primarily on the pituitary-cortical-adrenal axis and the pituitary-ovarian axis. Rub 2 drops of Black Spruce + 3 drops of Apricot Kernel vegetable oil, 3 times a day, on the chest, lower back and joints.
If suffering from debilitating fatigue, starting first thing in the morning, take 2 drops of Black Spruce, 2 drops of Scots Pine and 5 drops of Apricot Kernel vegetable oil and massage into the areas above the kidneys.
