R39 Affections of the abdomen, cyst – left side

Indications

Left-sided affections of the abdomen; left-sided affections of the ovaries, parametrium, or adnexa uteri.  Effective in cases of inflammation including adnexitis, salpingitis, parametritis; ovarian cysts, tumors.  Poor cicatrization following surgery.  R39 may be also utilized prior to or as an adjunct to surgical intervention.

Mode of action

Lachesis: Burning, convulsive pains in the left abdomen with congestive flushing.  Ovarian tumors or cysts, especially on the left side.

Lycopodium: Specific action on convulsive pains originating around the descending and sigmoid colon; distension of the abdomen; fears of cancer; afflictions begin on the right and move to the left side.

Palladium metallicum: Acute and chronic ovarian cystic inflammation and pain; pain is worse after menses, after excitement, better lying on the left side.

Saxifraga: Uterine prolapse; indicated for left-sided renal calculi.  Pains radiate to the upper body and may be accompanied by renal calculi or intestinal pains; irritation and inflammation are reflexed to several organs.

Vespa crabro: Pain and inflammation of the left ovary, tenderness; frequent micturition; pain in the sacrum.

Remedies to be considered

  • Inflammation of all types, especially when accompanied by fever: R1, R193, BC-11

  • Convulsive intestinal spasms and diarrhea: R4 or R4 JUNIOR, BC-3, BC-8

  • Menopausal symptoms: R10

  • Bleeding hemorrhoids and affections of the rectum: R13, BC-17

  • Suspected tumours: R17

  • Disorders of ovarian secretion: R20

  • Concomitant renal calculi: R27

  • Dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea: R28, BC-15

  • Constipation and convulsive pains in the abdomen, possibly due to intestinal spasm: R37 or R37 JUNIOR, BC-3, BC-4

  • Right-sided abdominal complaints: R38

  • Venous stasis, varicosis, and inflammation of the veins: R42, BC-17

  • Sharp pains in the sacral region: R50

Clinical experience

  • Typically regarded as an acute formula.

  • Internal, painful scar tissue, 5-10 drops 3-4 times daily.

  • Endometriosis, postoperative pain, diverticulosis.

  • If indicated, administer in alternation with R38 at ½ hour intervals.

Ingredients

Lachesis D30 1 g, Lycopodium D30 1 g, Palladium metallicum D12 1 g, Saxifraga D30 1 g, Vespa crabro D12 1 g.

Non-medicinal ingredients: ethanol, purified water.

Dosage

Adults: 5-10 drops 1-3 times daily in a little water or undiluted or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
